An Editor’s Desk

Now this is one clean desk and cubicle!

By Julie Preble, Assistant Editor

Maybe it’s because we’re wrapping up the January issue, and in January you make New Year?s resolutions (e.g., keep your desk tidy).

Maybe it’s because it’s a Friday afternoon, and I needed to take a break from working on my February assignments.

Whatever the reason, I decided it was time to ?tackle the beast? and clean off my desk.

Throughout the issue cycle, things really start to pile up!

It probably doesn’t help that I’m one of those workers who thinks she needs to hang on to absolutely everything. (You never know, you might need it one day, right?)

Pens are an important tool for editing, but this might be too many.

I’ll spare you the before shot?no one needs to see how bad my desk can get?but it’s looking pretty good now!

Any guesses as to how long it will stay this way?

Side note: I also decided to clean out my penholder. Why on Earth did I have so many pens? I’m pretty sure I’m the only person in this office to ever re-stock the supply room from my own collection.
