Hourglass Drill

Don’t let your horse change directions just because he changes leads. Use this drill to keep your horse straight after a lead change.

The lead change is not a change of direction. A lead change allows you the ability to change directions so your horse is balanced going the other way. However, when a horse starts to anticipate the lead change, they start to anticipate going a different direction, as well. Use this hourglass drill to help your horse change directions and get the lead change off his mind.
