A dedicated barrel racer who spends her weekdays in the barn and her weekends on the road to horse shows, Pennsylvania’s Abby Yarkosky is a teenager on a mission. With a tough stable of her own horses matched with other top horses she is able to compete on, Abby combines good fortune and a whole lot of “try” to become a force to be reckoned with in youth and open competition. What is his barn name, and how old is he?
Frenchy, he will be 7 in 2011.
Tell us about how you came to ride him.
His owner (Valerie Watson) asked me if I would like to ride him and her other horse, VF Smooth N Rare in the youth class for her.
What personality traits set him apart from other horses you’ve ridden?
He has a big heart and he gives it his all every run.
What is his running style like?
He’s more of a free running horse.
