I just came in from the barn, where I finished getting Tiffany groomed and ready for tomorrow's trip to her first stay with a trainer. Wow--our home-raised baby's last night at home!
I bred Tiffany, who's now 2 1/2, and have raised her since she was born on our place in 2007. For fun, here are a few shots, from older to younger, from her Idaho-days scrapbook.
Tiffany, who has the greying gene, was born a shade of chocolate, and her first greyed coat, as a foal, was almost lavender. Her sire, Absolute Option, is sorrel, so I expected her to end up as a rose grey. But as her next haircoat came in, as a late weanling, she dropped the reddish grey for a black-pointed blue base. She is now yet another eye-striking color, very silvery-blue with her still-black mane and tail.
