The November 2010 “We’d Love to Own” page featured Quarter Horse mare Vital Signs Are Good. We loved her for her sweet face, gorgeous roan color, deadly lead changes, and incredible stats in the show pen. At that time, she’d loped her way to 27 All American Quarter Horse Congress titles, 10 AQHA and NSBA world championships, and more than $200,000 in earnings. Time to make room for yet another golden trophy!
This week, at the AQHYA World Show in Oklahoma City, “Lucy” took youth rider Theresa Moran of Laguna Hills, California, to a world champion title in Western riding and a fourth-place finish in Western Pleasure. You can watch Theresa and Lucy’s winning Western riding performance here.
Trained by Charlie Cole and Jason Martin of High Point Performance Horses, in the November issue Charlie noted that, “Her consistency and longevity set her apart. She’s been at the top for so long, and she’s so dependable.”
Lucy’s at the top once again, and maybe even deserves a few extra peppermints, her favorite treat.
