100X Brazos Slide: What You Need to Know

Ten days, $50,000 on the line and a shot at Rome: here's what's happening at the 2026 Brazos Slide.

The 100X Brazos Slide kicks off in Waco, Texas, running July 17-26 at the Extraco Events Center. The reining event returns with its usual lineup of big-money classes, plus a new youth event making its debut this year.

When

July 17-26, 2026

Where

Extraco Events Center, Waco, Texas

What it is

A 100X Shows reining event featuring the $50,000 Clark Reining Horses and 21 Reining Horses Super Slide, the 100X Derby, and the Texas Reining Horse Association (TRHA) Green Reiner Shootout presented by Classic Canyon Ranch.

The Italy Connection

New in 2026 is the inaugural Texas Reining Horse Association Youth Shootout, presented by Spooks Gotta Whiz, held Thursday, July 23, alongside the Green Reiner Shootout. To qualify, riders must be TRHA members competing in the NRHA Youth 14-18 class that day.

The prize is a big one: the winner receives a round-trip ticket to Rome to compete at the Tuscany Reining Horse Association event in October, with a horse, entry fees and more covered. The class is the product of a new partnership between TRHA and Tuscany RHA, which organizers on both sides describe as an effort to strengthen youth reining worldwide and build ties between U.S. and European riders.

Fan Favorites

The Clark Reining Horses and 21 Reining Horses Super Slide is back for another year, pitting open and non-pro riders against each other with no separation between divisions. Each competitor can enter up to two horses, and horses don’t have to be entered by their owners. Judges score each run’s approach and sliding stop on a zero-to-10 scale, and riders compete in western attire, including a long-sleeve shirt and cowboy hat. The show also kicked off with a Welcome Party sponsored by TRHA and Ranchos Los Vaqueros.
