Record-Breaking Sales at Teton Ridge Dispersal
The Teton Ridge dispersal drew top buyers and industry standouts, with elite horses selling for record-setting prices that underscored the strength of the performance horse market.

The Teton Ridge dispersal sale saw some of the biggest names in the Western performance horse industry change hands, and buyers came ready to play. Checkbooks were wide open as elite stallions, broodmares, and prospects sold for equally impressive prices.

Third Edge sold for $5.6 million to Solo Select Horses LLC.

Third Edge

Third Edge set the tone for the sale, commanding $5.6 million and going home with Solo Select Horses LLC. The 2018 stallion by Metallic Rebel out of Lil Rattler was the 2022 NCHA Horse of the Year and has earned more than $340,000. His record includes the NCHA Open Derby Championship and NCHA Super Stakes Open Derby Co-Championship with $6 million rider Wes Galyean.

“Third Edge’s legacy in the show pen is undeniable, but his true impact will be measured in the generations to come,” said Melanie Smith, owner of Solo Select Horses. “He’s been bred to some of the greatest mares of all time, and now at Solo Select, we get to carry that forward. He doesn’t just follow the standard—he raises it.”

All Spice

The 2017 mare All Spice (Once In A Blu Boon x Show Biz Kitty) captured attention as Hip No. 62. An earner of more than $571,000, her résumé includes the 2020 NCHA Futurity Championship and 2021 NCHA Horse of the Year title. She sold with an embryo to Smooth Talkin Style and a rebreed to Hashtags for $5 million to Rocking P Ranch.

Smooth Talkin Style

Smooth Talkin Style sold for $2 million to XIT Ranch and Bosque Ranch.

XIT Ranch and Bosque Ranch purchased Smooth Talkin Style, “Talker,” for $2 million. The 2011 stallion by Smooth As A Cat and out of Stylish Play Lena is a proven sire, with offspring earnings topping $9.3 million. Ranked among QData’s Top 15 Leading Cutting Sires, Talker has produced industry leaders such as Storyteller  and Baby Talk.

Twice In Santiago

Rocking P Ranch added another powerhouse with Twice In Santiago (Once In A Blu Boon x Twice As Reycy). The 2016 mare has earned more than $276,000 and boasts titles like 2020 NCHA Horse of the Year, 2020 Open Derby Reserve Champion, and 2019 Open Futurity Reserve Champion. She sold with an embryo by Smooth Talkin Style for $1.8 million.

Tres Chasin Babe PZ

Barrel racing superstar Tres Chasin Babe PZ, “Rosie,” sold for $1 million to Tres Amigos: A&C Racing and Roping, 3 String Cattle Co., and Las Tunas Performance Horses. The 2019 mare by Tres Seis out of Babe On The Chase has earned more than $592,400 with titles including the Pink Buckle Futurity Championship, BFA World Futurity Championship, and Ruby Buckle Open Championship. She sold with an embryo by Blazzin The Way.

Welcome Home Birdie

When Babe On The Chase (Chasin Firewater x Streakin Six Babe), “Birdie,” went through as Hip No. 54 all eyes were on Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi. Together, the duo had made barrel racing history, qualifying for five NFRs and winning multiple rounds, pushing the 2011 mare’s lifetime earnings to more than $550,000. Her offspring have earned more than $770,000 and include the million-dollar mare Tres Chasin Babe PZ.

The gavel dropped at $500,000 and Tonozzi could be seen with tears in her eyes as she welcomed her sweet mare home. Birdie sold with an embryo by SR Industry Titan and two frozen embryos to Tres Seis.
