The 100X Reining Classic wrapped nine days of competition in Tulsa, Oklahoma, bringing a week of major reining action to a close with $1.8 million in added money paid out. From the 100X Invitational and 100X Stakes to the NARS Futurity and Derby, the Aug. 29-Sept. 6 show brought together some of the sport’s top horses and riders and produced plenty of big scores along the way.

Cade McCutcheon and Twohundreddegrees Take the 100X Invitational
Cade McCutcheon led the way in the 100X Invitational, piloting Twohundreddegrees (Mr Farenheit x Ruf Lil Joe), owned by DFS Group, to a 223½ to win the Level 4 Open championship and $75,000.
McCutcheon doubled up in the same class, tying for second at 223 aboard Midnight Crush (PS Mega Shine Chic x Miss Taris Rey), owned by Bosque Ranch Performance Horses LLC. Casey L. Deary and Markedfourgreatness (Tricked Out Spook x Miss Sugar Gunnit), owned by Amy Liske, also marked a 223 to share the reserve championship, with each rider earning $37,799.
The win continued a strong summer for McCutcheon, who tied Nathan Piper for the Level 4 Open Derby championship at the 100X Brazos Slide in July aboard Berry Uniquely Dunn (Spooks Gotta Whiz x Gunna Kissya) with a 229.
Andrea Fappani and Three Horses Deliver Three of the Week’s Top Scores
Andrea Fappani had one of the most consistent weeks of the 2026 100X Reining Classic, putting three horses among the show’s six highest scores and collecting championships across multiple classes.
Fappani and Best Is Yet Too Come (Gunner x Wimpys Little Chic), owned by Tim J. Anderson and Clark Reining Horses LLC, posted the highest score of the show, a 232 in the Level 4 finals of the 100X 4-Year-Old Open Stakes. The score earned the pair the championship and $62,207.87, making it the second-biggest payday of the week.
Craig C. Schmersal and Slide Action, owned by Diamond Creek Ranch, finished second with a 230 for $37,865.66, while Cade McCutcheon and Noize Complaint, owned by Bosque Ranch, placed third with a 229½ for $28,399.25.
Fappani then added two more championships to his week, marking 226½ scores aboard OO7 (Gunner Dun It Again x Solidly Spirited), owned by Sandy Vargo, and Shining Guns N Roses (Colonels Shining Gun x Roses For Einstein), owned by 23 Quarter Horses SRL to tie for the top spot in the Open Derby, earning $15,123.13 each, and in the NARS Open Derby, taking home an additional $24,774.41 per horse.
Across his three championship runs, Fappani demonstrated the consistency needed to stand out during a nine-day show, with scores of 232, 226½ and 226½ putting his name on three of the week’s highest scores.
Fernando Salgado and Spookadoo Top the Open Futurity
Fernando Salgado added an Open Futurity championship to the week’s list of big wins, piloting Spookadoo (Spooks Gotta Whiz x Dolittle Lena), owned by Jillane B. Brown, to a 225. The score put Salgado at the top of the Open Futurity leaderboard and earned $19,047.54.
Lane Colston and Dust Win the Non Pro Futurity
Lane Colston claimed the Non Pro Futurity championship aboard Dust (Gunner Dun It Again x Ms Maggie Whiz), owned by Kevin M. Colston. The pair scored a 222 to take the title and $6,769.56.
Mandy McCutcheon and Cromedblack Gun MIL Close the Loop
Mandy McCutcheon and Cromedblack Gun MIL (Gunner Dun It Again x Cromedblackcielo FMM) added another major title to their recent run, scoring a 225 to win the Non Pro Derby and $19,703.04. The victory also brought McCutcheon back to where the partnership began: the 2025 100X Reining Classic, where she purchased the Brazil-raised mare.
Since then, the pair has quickly established itself as a force in the Non Pro ranks. In July, McCutcheon and Cromedblack Gun MIL topped the Non Pro Derby at the 100X Brazos Slide with a unanimous 223½. Their 225 in Tulsa kept that momentum rolling, giving the pair back-to-back wins in the Non Pro Derby at the two 100X events.
Dany Tremblay and High And Mightey Defend Their 100X Super Slide Title
Dany Tremblay and High And Mightey (Gunnatrashya x Electrinicki), owned by Stone Mountain Stables, topped the 100X Super Slide, marking a combined 39½ across four judges to take home $30,000.
The win marks the second consecutive year Tremblay and “E.T.” have taken the Super Slide championship in Tulsa. In 2025, the pair won after tying Francesco Martinotti and Smoking Trash at 39½ in the initial round before Tremblay and High And Mightey prevailed with a perfect 40 in the sudden-death tie-breaker slide.
