Ask a Pro: Hoof Packing
Hey Brad, how do you utilize hoof packing?

Hey Brad, how do you utilize hoof packing?

“We use Magic Cushion on as needed basis. It’s really wonderful for our thin-soled horses or those that have a tendency to get foot sore with work. Magic Cushion is always packed in the trailer when we head out to shows too,” says Barkmeyer. “We like to utilize it for sensitive horses, so they don’t require a hard pad with the farrier. In some very sensitive cases, we will use the hoof packing between the foot and the hard pad for 5-6 weeks of shoeing.”

Magic Cushion is veterinary formulated to work like magic on sore feet. Magic Cushion hoof packing starts working to reduce hoof heat within one hour, and then for up to 24 hours. It will provide fast, soothing relief for overworked or overheated hooves by calming inflammation and soreness throughout the sole and frog. Its fast-acting and long-lasting relief from heat and soreness in hooves does not contain any substances currently prohibited by USEF or Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI).
