What is the Southwest Regional Sorting Bowl?
The Southwest Regional Sorting Bowl is a ranch sorting event produced by the proven team at Cinch RSNC. It’s a three-day event, with classes that cater to all levels and abilities, from Monday’s Cinch #13 Gold Shootout to Wednesday’s Beginner Sort.
When is the Cinch RSNC Southwest Regional Super Sort?
The event runs from Monday, Dec. 2, through Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024.
Books open at 8:00 a.m. each day, and classes start at 9:00 a.m.
Where is the ranch sorting?
The event is being held at the Plaza Hotel & Casino’s Core Arena—the first and only permanent outdoor equestrian center in Downtown Las Vegas. The facility boasts two arenas and onsite stalls, all located within view of the hotel.
Event parking information
Arena location: 324 S Main St, Las Vegas, NV 89101
Is there parking at the arena?
Yes. There is an onsite, first-come, first-serve parking lot that can accommodate trailers at the arena. Daily parking permits for the lot are $25/day.
Is there overflow parking?
Yes. On S. Main Street where it crosses Bonneville Ave., a remote lot is available to contestants.
Can I unload the horses at the arena before parking in the remote lot?
Yes, but, location management asks that horses are already saddled. This way, the time unloading can be kept to a minimum, which will decrease the chance of trailers backing up on S. Main Street.
An alternative option is to park and unload in the remote lot and to walk your horses on the sidewalk to the arena. The Core Arena team is in charge of keeping the sidewalks clean.
Which classes have the best paybacks?
The Gold Shootouts—the #13 is on Monday, followed by the #9 on Tuesday—pay back the highest percentages. To be eligible for entry, contestants must be Gold or Platinum RSNC members, which they can elect onsite.
On Monday, the Cinch #13 Gold Shootout will pay back 85% to the winning ranch sorting team. On Tuesday, the #9 Gold Shootout pays back the same. Each class costs $150.
