The Pacific Coast Cutting Horse Association's premier aged event returns to Las Vegas June 5–14, 2026, with $195,000 in added money and a new streamlined format.

The PCCHA Reyzin The Cash Derby & Classic/Challenge heads back to the South Point Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, June 5–14 for ten days of top-level cutting horse competition.

What’s New in 2026

This year’s Derby features a new format: one go round with Finals for all classes, replacing the previous two-go format. The change was made due to cattle cost and availability. The top 25% of entries from the go round advance to Finals, with a minimum of 6 and maximum of 25 finalists per level.

Classes & Divisions

The Derby covers two limited aged groups:

  • Derby — 4-year-old horses
  • Classic/Challenge — 5 and 6-year-old horses

Within each aged group, there are three divisions — Open, Non-Pro, and Amateur — and each division is split into three levels based on the rider’s NCHA lifetime earnings:

Classes Within Classes

Every Open division includes a Gelding and Novice jackpot class within the class (Novice eligibility: less than $10,000 TLE as of May 1, 2026). Non-Pro and Amateur divisions include Gelding and Senior (age 60+) jackpot divisions. Entry fee for these is $400 + $100 office fee.

Membership Requirements

Both owners and riders must be current NCHA and PCCHA members to participate. Join PCCHA here.

Health Paperwork

All horses must have:

  • 12-month Coggins (all horses)
  • 30-day health certificate (horses not coming from Arizona or Colorado)

Arizona & Colorado horses: VSV (Vesicular Stomatitis Virus) is currently active in those states. Horses coming from AZ or CO require a 7-day health certificate with special verbiage stating the horse has been examined within seven days of shipment and has not been exposed to VSV or located on a VSV-confirmed or suspected premises in the previous 14 days. For full Nevada import requirements, visit agri.nv.gov.

Stalls

Stall reservations were due May 15, 2026. Stalls can be cancelled up to 10 days prior to the start of the show at no charge; after that, a $100 cancellation fee applies. Download the stall form or reserve online via JotForm.

PCCHA Derby Entry Deadlines & Late Fees

Entries were due May 15, 2026 (no grace period). Late entries were accepted with a fee through May 31. After May 31, entries are accepted but horses go at the end of the set with no extra cattle added. Credit cards carry an additional 3% handling charge.
