Chat with a Non-Pro

On this week’s episode of The Ride, Nichole and Devin sit down with Kim Rounds to chat about what it’s like to compete as a non-pro rider.

This episode of The Ride is brought to you by Purina.

Kim is a non-pro in the NRCHA, and finds time to balance a full-time job at 5 Rivers Cattle Feeding, managing social media accounts, dabbling in equine sales, training a junior horse, and competing. We talk with Kim about showing as a non-pro, and her experiences in the arena. Kim also gives insight into her experience switching disciplines, and entering the cowhorse world, after growing up riding English.

We hope this episode will resonate with our listeners that are new to the show arena, or have dreams of competing and aren’t sure where to start. Kim gives great advice to those just starting out, and encourages you to not give up on your dreams, even if you can’t afford the high-dollar show horse starting out.
