How Sharee Schwartzenberger Became One of Freestyle Reining’s Most Dominant Champions

Reining professional Sharee Schwartzenberger joins Horse&Rider's The Ride Podcast to talk training, competition, and freestyle reining.

We had the opportunity to chat with Sharee Schwartzenberger, on this episode of The Ride.

This episode of The Ride is brought to you by Purina.

Sharee is a second generation, professional horsewoman from Longmont, Colorado. She grew up in the horse industry; with very accomplished parents. She showed extensively in NRHA and AQHA as a non-professional before turning professional in 2017.

Freestyle reining is often a fan favorite — complete with costumes, intentional music choices, and an excellent display of horsemanship — and Sharee has long been a dominant force in the discipline. She’s a multiple-time National Western Stock Show Freestyle Reining Champion, earning top honors in 2020, 2022, and again at the most recent NWSS Invitational in 2026.
