More than 1,700 contestants will attend the 2024 National High School Finals Rodeo, throwing their hat in the ring for a chance at a world championship title.

National High School Rodeo Association members compete at state levels for local recognition, and the top four contestants in each event qualify for the NHSFR. Spectators can expect an action-packed event. Expect rodeo events, a reined cow horse show, and a terrific trade show sure to have something for everyone (nhsra.com/nhsfr).

With a reined cow horse show, two rodeo performances daily, a massive trade show, and 16 different events to watch, this weekend is sure to be a crowd pleaser. Featuring contestants from all 50 states, five Canadian provinces, Australia, Mexico, and New Zealand. This event is the culmination of these young riders’ hard work. Held in conjunction with the rodeo will be a reined cow horse show. Where spectators can witness the talent and athleticism of the cow horse and their youth rider. The grand entry is always a crowd pleaser, and combines flash, action, and introductions to your contestants. This year the grand entry will feature country flags, all sponsor flags, and a showcase of student officers and state queens.

To catch a glimpse of Wyoming’s wild horses, take a short drive from Rock Springs to Pilot Butte and drive the 4. Wild Horse Scenic Loop. A 23-mile scenic drive that allows you to witness the splendor of wild horses left to roam on open ranges. Don’t forget your camera!

Making History

Since 1949, the NHSRA has offered youth riders a chance to showcase their talents, win scholarships, and find community with their peers. Starting as a grassroots organization in Texas with only 121 entries, and two events, the organization has grown to benefit more than 10,000 youth members across the United States, Canada, and Australia.
