Fundamentals of a Good Stop with Andrea Fappani
In part 3 of this video tip series with Andrea Fappani, brought to you by Polyglycan, learn how to build the fundamentals of a good stop.

When it comes to building fundamentals of the stop, Andrea Fappani says, “I don’t try to make my horse stop. I want him to think about the stop.”

In this video brought to you by Polyglycan, hear from $8 Million Dollar NRHA rider and expert horseman, Andrea Fappani, about how to build the fundamentals of a good stop. Regardless of your discipline, a solid stop is always a good thing. As Andrea says, “I don’t know anyone that doesn’t like a horse that stops well.”

Start by helping him recognize the word whoa, and focus on helping him put in the effort instead of making him do it. Using a fence or some sort of barrier, try out this exercise from Andrea when teaching a young horse to stop, or when working with an older horse that is rusty. Build the fundamentals of a good stop with Andrea, at the video below.
