Life After an Osteoarthritis Diagnosis

An osteoarthritis diagnosis is scary. But it doesn’t mean that your horse’s best days are behind him, and it certainly doesn’t mean he needs to stand in a stall for the rest of his life. Although the condition can’t be cured, treatment is available and many horses continue to thrive long after their diagnosis. Your horse’s workload, diet, and treatment protocol might look a little different depending on the severity of his condition, but OA can be managed and life will go on after his diagnosis.

After working with your vet to understand how far the condition has progressed and what comes next, here are just a few strategies to implement so that you and your four-legged friend can thrive.
