BABY SAFETY, HEALTH EXAMS, TRAILER CHECK
Protect your foal: Baby-proof fencing and enclosures. Keep dogs (which can upset Mom) away. Supplement your mare’s feed to make sure her milk has the nutrients the foal needs.
Schedule spring vet visit: Your horses need an annual health exam as much as you do; be sure vaccinations are updated as necessary.
Tune-up your trailer: Especially important if your rig has been sitting idle most of the winter. Check hitch, wheel bearings, tire pressure, lights, brakes, flooring, and all latches.
