Christensen grew up in Caledonia, Michigan, and started with horses in the Kent County 4-H program. Since then, he has won numerous championships and world titles in the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA), Palomino Horse Breeders Association (PHBA), and the American Paint Horse Association (APHA).
Christensen Performance Horses, located in Myakka City, Florida, focuses on Western dressage. Christensen has personally earned more than 30 world and reserve world championships in PHBA, Western Dressage Association of America, and the Gypsy Horse World Championships. He has also trained and earned numerous United States Equestrian Federation horse of the year titles in Western dressage.
