Andrea Fappani and 007 (Gunner Dun It Again x Solidly Spirited) are on a roll that’s hard to ignore. Fappani and “Bond” laid down a masterful run to capture the Level 4 Open Derby championship at the 100X Tulsa Reining Classic. Their 233.5-point performance bested a competitive field and added $17,661.15 to Bond’s record.
By the time their draw came, Fappani and Bond had already seen some great horse and rider pairs lay down impressive runs, but with several still to follow them, the duo knew they had to leave it all in the dirt.
And they did, they blew the field out of the water with a huge score to take over the lead, surpassing Fappani’s own 230 on Trashinyurdreams (Gunnatrashya x This Chicsdundreamin) that had previously led the class.
Building on a Breakout Debut
What makes this moment even bigger is how quickly it followed another stand-out performance. Just two weeks earlier, at The Run For A Million in Las Vegas, the pair turned heads with a show-stopping 234 to win the $100,000 Open Shootout. That performance didn’t just crown them champions—it secured their place in the 2026 TRFAM main event. For a newer duo, the chemistry was instant, and the results speak volumes.
Back-to-back wins of this caliber have silenced any question of whether their TRFAM breakthrough was a one-off. The consistency speaks for itself: when Fappani and Bond step into the show pen, the scoreboard starts in the 230s.
With momentum like this, Andrea Fappani and 007 are quickly becoming one of reining’s most electric duos.

A Legend in the Making
Bond, a 2019 stallion owned by Mike and Sandy Vargo, has proven to be more than just flashy talent. Previously shown by Fappani’s son, Luca, and NRHA Professional Gabriel Borges, the horse already had a résumé to be proud of, with titles including the 2023 100X Reining Championship and the 2024 100X Derby Reserve title. But with Andrea now in the saddle, Bond’s career has hit overdrive. In just two weeks, his lifetime earnings have grown by more than $46,000, pushing his total to more than $449,000. Despite his small stature, the stallion continues to punch well above his weight, showing that heart and talent matter more than size when the lights are brightest.
Fappani’s domination in the Open Derby didn’t stop with Bond. He piloted Trashinyurdreams, owned by Rhodes River Ranch, to a 230 and the reserve championship, banking another $10,750.27. Jason Vanlandingham kept the pressure on, marking a 229 with Best Shine (Shine Chic Shine x Best Stop) and a 228.5 with Plus Me Im Shiny (Colonels Shining Gun x Plus One Chex) for third and fourth place finishes, tying with Mirko Midili and Mark My Word for fourth.
