Non-pro riders are a driving force behind the reining industry. They are the owners who invest in young prospects, the customers who support training programs, and the competitors who juggle careers, families, and full lives outside the show pen—all while dedicating themselves to the sport.
That influence continues to be recognized on reining’s biggest stage.
In 2026, The Run For A Million Non Pro Challenge will offer $125,000 in added money, an increase of $50,000 that further strengthens its position as one of the most prestigious events in non-pro competition.
The Road to Las Vegas
Qualification for the Non Pro Challenge begins at The Run For A Million semi-finals qualifying events held across the United States and Europe. Riders who finish in the top five at those events advance to the non-pro semi-finals, which take place alongside the 6666 Ranch NRHA Derby in Oklahoma City.
From there, the top 30 riders advance to The Run For A Million in Las Vegas, joined by additional international qualifiers.
The clean-slate format ensures that every rider enters the event on an equal playing field, reinforcing the focus on performance in the moment rather than prior earnings or reputation.
