Tim Christensen demonstrates going from a regular jog and trot to lengthened jog and trot. In an extended trot or jog, the judge is looking for a clear change in gate with a noticeable difference when you come back to the regular trot or jog.
About Tim Christensen
Tim Christensen grew up in Caledonia, Michigan, and started with horses in the Kent County 4-H program. Since then, he has won numerous championships and world titles in the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA), Palomino Horse Breeders Association (PHBA), and the American Paint Horse Association (APHA).
Christensen Performance Horses, located in Myakka City, Florida, focuses on Western dressage. Over the years, Christensen has held to his “Training FOUR Life” program: Foundation, Opportunity, Understanding, and Respond/Reward. He believes in producing horses that last a lifetime—and the results of his program speak for themselves.
Christensen has personally earned more than 30 world and reserve world championships in PHBA, Western Dressage Association of America, and the Gypsy Horse World Championships. His training program has produced more than 70 world and reserve world championships. He has also trained and earned numerous United States Equestrian Federation horse of the year titles in Western dressage.
