If you’re a fan of Horse&Rider the name Amberley Snyder should be one you’re very familiar with. On top of her Inspired Rider columns you see in the magazine, H&R contributor Amberley has also been part of our Win-a-Day contests—where one lucky winner got to spend the day with Amberley riding and learning more about horsemanship.

If you’ve seen some of the many training videos (click here to check out her #RideWithAmberley series) we have available on HorseandRider.com, or have seen the photos that go with her columns, you’ll notice there are straps attached to the saddle Amberley rides in. That’s because nine years ago Amberley was involved in an accident that would change the course of her life.

On January 10, 2010, at the age of 18, Amberley was involved in a rollover car accident that left her paralyzed from the waist down, and was told by doctors that she would never walk—or ride—again. Against all odds, Amberley was determined to get back in the saddle and continue barrel racing. Remarkably, four months after her life-changing accident, Amberley was back on her horse and not long after that, competing at rodeos.

Now you can see this inspiring story yourself. Walk. Ride. Rodeo. will be released on Netflix on March 8, 2019, and focuses on the challenges Amberley faced after her accident and how she made her way back to the rodeo arena against all odds.
