To Do This Month: Spring Cleaning

This month it’s time to ride! Clean up tack and riding apparel when poor weather hits so you’re prepared for sunny riding conditions.

Tidy the tack room: Toss the stuff that should go. Organize the rest using racks, stackable bins, vinyl pocket-holders, and other space-saving containers.

Beautify blankets: Turn winter blankets inside-out and brush them free of loose hair, then hang them over a fence or gate on a sunny day. (Sunlight helps kill the mold or fungi that could be present from the winter of use.)

Groom your gear: Give your saddles, bridles, and other equipment a good cleaning. As you do, inspect it for cracked, worn, or broken pieces in need of replacement or repair.
