After a 40-run showdown in the Ranch Fuel Super Slide, Dany Tremblay on High And Mightey and Francesco Martinotti on Smoking Trash were tied for first at 39.5 points. Pitted against each other in a match slide, Tremblay and “E.T.” emerged the victors, marking a perfect score at the 2025 100X Tulsa Reining Classic.

Sudden-death Slide

Despite its recent introduction in 2024, the Ranch Fuel Super Slide quickly developed into a fan favorite. The event features, simply, the most exciting part of any reining pattern: the slide.

On the evening of Thursday, Aug. 28, 2025, 40 top reiners and their money-earning mounts—what Martinotti would refer to as “the largest and most talented group of trainers and horses in Super Slide history”—were called into the Tulsa’s Expo Square arena. Inside the Built Ford Tough Livestock Complex, they made the most of their single opportunity to lay down a textbook slide and take home the winner’s cut of the $100,000 payout.

Martinotti ran seventh and laid down an impressive 39.5 aboard Smoking Trash—a lead that held even as Luca Fappani and Whizsicle threw down a 39 and, behind them, Justin Mathison kept the heat turned on with a 38 aboard A Spook Is Shining. Then Tremblay—the 2023 Run For A Million Reserve Champion—and “E.T.” came for the last and final slide, capturing a tie with the run that had held the lead for the previous 32 runs.

To determine a winner, the riders competed in a match slide, challenged to repeat the greatness they’d already executed. Martinotti and Smoking Trash managed an absolute repeat, yet again earning 39.5 points in front of a captivated crowd. Tremblay and E.T. followed, thrilling the audience with a second excellent run. All waited with palpable anticipation as the judges tallied their scores.

Tremblay and High And Mighty earned a perfect 40. And $32,000.

“What a horse,” Tremblay marveled in his post-victory interview. “I had a lot of fun tonight.”

High And Mightey

Known as E.T., High And Mightey is a 2018 stallion by Gunnatrashya and out of Electrinicki, a paternal granddaughter of Shining Spark. Bred by Rhodes River Ranch, the chestnut overo Quarter Horse has nearly $110,000 in lifetime earnings with more than $81,000 allotted to NRHA earnings according to QData.

Recently purchased by Smith Ranch in Whitesboro, Texas, E.T. has carried Tremblay to some notable successes before, including a first-place tie in the North American Reining Stakes East Coast Open Derby Level 3 in July in North Carolina this year. In the NARS Open Derby L4 in Tulsa, the pair’s pattern earned them 222 points, the same score High And Mightey earned under saddle for Nicole Renick in the 2024 Run For A Million Open Shootout.

When asked what would come next for the pair, Tremblay had his eye on a qualifier, but he suggested fans could expect to see them in future Super Slides, too.

“He proved that he can do it,” he said of the horse. “It was pretty easy for him, I think, and he could do it again and again.”
