Teaching a Foal to Follow Pressure of a Lead Rope

Anthony demonstrates how he teaches foals to follow the pressure of a lead rope and halter on a young foal.

Anthony walks us through the process of teaching a foal to follow the pressure of a lead rope. He puts a lead rope on a month-old foal for the first time and shows us the best way to help him understand that he’s asking him to follow the pressure. Then, Anthony shows us what to do if the foal resists pressure. He shows us a method of putting a lead rope around his hind end and using that to guide him forward.
