Chelsea’s “Love to Own”

With our April issue hitting mailboxes this week, I want to introduce you to a horse I’d absolutely “Love to Own.”

Meet April’s “We’d Love to Own” horse, JL Dash Ta Heaven, a 6-year-old sorrel stallion owned by Jud Little of Ardmore, Oklahoma.

This big guy, known only as Dash Ta Heaven, is one of the top horses in the country, trained by the highest earning barrel racer in 2010, Jolene Montgomery. The duo smoked a run to win the reserve title in the JR Wenger Congress Barrel Racing Sweepstakes (second only behind 8-year-old superstar Regan Henning and her 18-year-old mare Story Tellen Flower), and have earned a staggering $106,868 in two years of competition.

If you ask riders Jolene, Ashley Nelson, or Benette Barrington why this stud is so outstanding, they’ll tell you his personality makes all the difference. But, I don’t want to give away the whole story here, so if you want to learn what makes Dash Ta Heaven so special, you’ll have to see for yourself on page 19 of our April issue.

In the meantime, check out Jolene and Dash Ta Heaven’s winning run at the Lone Star Arena.
