Well H&R readers, it’s official?I’ve had my first photo shoot for the magazine. What does that mean? You’ll be seeing these chubby cheeks in an upcoming issue!
Typically, I’m not a morning person, but if horses are involved, you can bet I’ll be up at the crack of dawn. That was the case this past Saturday morning. I woke up a little bleary-eyed, but excited, at 4:45 a.m.
By 6 a.m., I’d showered, dressed in my best Western wear, grabbed my mug of tea, and was on my way to the barn. It was such a beautiful morning, and I soaked up the sun and view on my hour-long trip to Littleton.
As soon as I opened the car door at the barn, I was greeted by the wonderful smell of horses! It made the 4:45 wake-up call completely worth it.
Because I was all gussied up and ready to go for the shoot, I wasn’t able to help prep my fellow equine model, Ruthie. However, it was still fun to just watch and give Ruthie the occasional pat on the neck.
Another part of the photo shoot that was a lot of fun was the fashion prep. A lot of my Western wear is a little bit older, and I’ve needed to update that part of my wardrobe for a while now.
On Friday, Jen and I went to the Miller International Factory Store in Denver to help update my wardrobe. I got myself a couple pairs of Cruel Girl jeans and a few Rocky Mountain shirts, and now I’m ready for more photo shoots!
It was a lot of fun to go shopping, and I really enjoyed “beefing up” my Western wardrobe. And yes, pun intended!
