…that ‘Secretariat‘, Disney’s portrayal of the horse that set records and became a legend, hits theaters nationwide. 

And around the office lately, we’ve had Secretariat fever. I pulled up a video of the race that put the racing world on notice, the 1973 Kentucky Derby, and immediately chills went down my spine: 

And after reading Editor Juli Thorson’s blog post on the movie, I asked Jen if she knew how many descendants Secretariat has running around in both the race horse world and the Quarter Horse world, and because we both didn’t know the answer to this question, I headed over to one of my favorite search tools, AllBreedPedigree.com. 

There I found a list of hundredsof Secretariat’s offspring, Thoroughbreds, Appaloosas, and Quarter Horses. Do any of you have a horse that goes back to Secretariat? If so, I’d LOVE to hear about him or her and find out what it’s like to own a baby of Big Red.
